Thursday, Day 21 - this morning I woke up a bit late, it was a bit damp and cold, and frankly, I couldn’t be arsed to do anything too early on. I thought it was going to be a gorgeous day so I just though I’d definitely do something later … which is exactly the time you should get off your arse and do something right now, because later never comes!!
We decided we would have a fairly relaxed day after all the excitement of yesterday (I know, we went up one tiny mountain on a train and I need a break for a day - I’d make a terrible mountaineer!), so we went to an open air pool perched just above Lautterbrunnen village, as you can see from the pic below, they also have a pretty unique slack-line that goes across the water - Health & Safety here would have a field day! Cue lots of messing around trying to get more than a metre off the side of the pool and fall in without killing ourselves. Then we had a little walk around, had a coffee, hooked onto some wifi for a bit while it was there and then the heavens opened and out poured 2 cms of rain in about 2 hours! I had to run (again!) to get back to the tent and then the rest of the afternoon and evening was spent trying not to make the floor of the tent anymore squelchy than it was! We hunkered down after dinner, got into our sleeping bags and watched a couple of episodes of Preacher - the first TV we’ve seen for 4 weeks.
So kids, the moral of the story is, get up, get moving, and don’t think there’s always time later because now you’ve got even more to do and not feeling very smug at all!
